Orientation Stephanie-style
x_x Back for a last few days of freedom....my shoulder hurts like a sonovabitch from my satchel strap which was heavy from all the stuff I was carrying around. Oy gevald....

Anyway, my orientation.

Got to the student village. Met my roomates. Three guys and a girl. There's Fleming, a Engineering major (with very curly hair), Robin (a French guy who's in his third or forth year), and then this Malaysian guy and Robin's girlfriend. mmhmm. Fleming's nice...I haven't had much of a chance to get to know the other three. I guess I will in the weeks to come...

The lecturers say that USQ is a small place.....I still managed to get lost. Still...I made it to most of the things I had to make it to.

Sorry Sev, no sexy English professors....alot of men in short sleeved shirts and ties with beards and bellies. :-p Though you would've probably liked the look of the Anthropology professor...he looked kind of Snapey. And his wardrobe (or what I saw of it) was dark. Leather jacket...Sev, you would've loved him. Heh.

Got my id card. And then did a very stupid thing.

I lost my id. Probably about two minutes after getting it. On my first day.

Luckily, crisis was averted when I managed to get it back the next day. Thank God for good people who turn in lost things.

First Arts orientation was yesterday. Today, we had a formal welcome from the academics. Nngh....we had to stand when they came in. And they looked like medievil princes in their colourful robes and floppy caps.

Then, a bunch of speeches....vice-chancellor, other people, yadda, yadda, yadda. Boring.

Then I kind of....well, bummed around doing different stuff. I've met a couple of people (One of which has a livejournal. *waves to sekhet_hetepet*), and yeah....I'm making friends, I guess...but I digress.

That was the jist of my orientation. Now, the wait for classes. :-p God, I'll miss freedom.

Hahah! I love seeing profs in their academic regalia. Here in the US, the ones that went to Harvard have to wear fuschia. It's very entertaining.

Hang in there, Steph, I'm sure it'll be a fun year. ;-)
