Seeing as starting Sunday, you're likely not to hear from me for… - Vox Audita Perrit, Literra Scripta Manet....
The heard word is lost, the written letter remains...

Seeing as starting Sunday, you're likely not to hear from me for another two weeks (I may update if I can find an internet cafe in Sydney and have the time to do so), this is my yule post of sorts.

I'm starting to find as I get older, Christmas and birthdays start losing the thrill they had when I was little. I still enjoy decorating and giving people presents and stuff....it's just not the same as it was when I was, say, 10 or 11. Christmas has become so commercialised now, that most people seem to forget the meaning behind it.

Ok, that's really beside the point. The reason Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December is because the Catholic church (I think), decided on that day. Jesus actually wasn't born around Christmas. I think my RE teacher told me Jesus was born around August, but Andrew says that no one really knows for certain when he was born. So yeah....

My family and I will be in the Blue Mountains for Christmas day. We spend a week there, and then we drive down to Sydney for New Year's.
I'm really looking forward to that....David Wenham AND Hugo Weaving live in Sydney. Might be a chance that I'll see them. I know they're there at the moment...the Aussie premiere of TTT was two days ago. They were both there, or at least David was there. Woo.

What else....oh yes, just for the hell of it, I've written a letter to Santa. Don't laugh...and do refrain from snorting at some of the more silly requests.

Dear Santa,

I have been a very good girl this year, *cough, splutter* and I was wondering if you could get me a few things.

1. Happiness and peace of mind for all my friends overseas.

2.Willem Dafoe on my doorstep, with fruitcake. *cough* I'm serious.

3.Any of the other men on my interests list under my profile, or all of them, carolling on my doorstep. That's not too unreasonable, I hope....

4. A trip to America/Canada...so I can visit all the people I know there. Or tickets to Australia for them....so they can all visit me and we can throw a shrimp on the barbie. XD

5. Boondock Saints! Pleeeeeease.....why isn't it available here?! The one Willem film that I desparately want more than anything and you can't find it here. Gah! This is seriously the greatest crime. Especially since I just found out my vcr can take American videos. I would order it from the states, but....Dad tells me it's way too expensive to do. :-p

6. A poster of James Dean for my wall. I've been telling anybody who willingly listens that I've wanted one of these for a while. And I still want one.

That's all I'm asking for. Hope it's not too much....^_^; Actually....that Christmas episode of Father Ted being shown would be good. And that Vicar of Dibley eppy were the vicar eats too many Christmas dinners....oh, and when my friend Sevvie gets married, make sure Sean Bean crashes her wedding just like he did the vicar's. That would rock.

Ok, that's all.

Oops, forgot to say the magic word....please? ;)

Steph

Anyway, seeing as I'm not likely to update for a while after this....I would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas, and all the best for 2003. Blessings be upon all of you.

Merry Christmas to you too, Steph! Have a good trip! Btw, if you want to talk on AIM at this potential internet cafe, try finding AIM Express somewhere.
