The heard word is lost, the written letter remains...
So here I am....
Ladies and Gentlemen, meet the newest graduate of Stuartholme School of the Sacred Heart.

Yes, that would be me. I have been an adult for about three hours now.

And how do I feel?

Terrified, relieved, happy and sad.

mmm.....I'm surprised at just how calm I was at the final assembly. My friends were all in hysterical tears....particularly when the grade 11s began singing. One girl wrote a song for us. We were all touched.

But I didn't cry then. Nor did I cry when I said goodbye to my friends, many of whom, I mightn't see again for a long time. No....the clincher came when I said goodbye to my teachers.

You see, my mentor of sorts is my ancient history teacher. He didn't turn up to school today....my heart just about broke. I was so disappointed. I don't know when I'll see him again...but hell, I'll miss him. I'm miserable that I didn't get to say a proper goodbye to him. Geez....why'd he have to be away? And what makes it worse, he was in a bit of a snarky mood yesterday with us, so I didn't bother him. Part of me wishes I had....mmm.

I'm going to sound like a pathetic geek here, but I more or less kind of lost it when I said goodbye to them. Don't know why....I suppose they're not just your teachers: they're also there to support you and hear you out and whatever else. I'm so thankful for that...and I'm inclined to wonder whether my university professors will even be remotely what my secondary teachers were to me.

This morning I seriously believed that I was going to walk out of school wearing the biggest grin. I left wearing a frown and a rather sudden empty feeling in my stomach instead. I still feel kind of empty....

Anyway, this might be the last you hear from me for about a week. Tomorrow morning I'm flying off to Melbourne for a week. Celebrating my schoolies down there as opposed to on the Gold Coast. So yes.....I hope you're all in one piece when I get back.

Current Mood: indescribable indescribable
Current Music: Schooool's oooooooouuuuut for summer......

A Random Stuartholmian

Congratulations, Steph! We're going to miss you guys. ::sigh:: It's always so sad when the seniors leave. Everyone cries and then I cry and then... yeah. I hoipe you have fun in Melbourne, it's the best city. So pretty and old-fashioned. (With the added benefit of not being the Gold Coast.)

So, anyway, enjoy adulthood, but remember that you're still a Stuartholme girl at heart.

PS: I saw you saying goodbye to some of your teachers. You big ol' sap, you. :)

Wow, congratulations on graduating! May the road rise up to meet you and all that. =)

P.S. I dunno if you'll be going on to college but if you are, good luck there too!

Congrats! Good luck....
Hey, I know what it feels like... I was so sad to say goodbye to my teachers when I graduated... but hey, that's why I go and see them every now and then. :) So don't worry, you'll be all right.

Have fun in Melbourne! (Where is that, anyway?)
