"Push off, this is our dig site!"

Flew down to Sydney last week with mum to see the terracotta warriors exhibit at the Art Gallery of NSW with psyc2321. It was very crowded, but completely worth it. Sydney still sucks as a city though- getting out of the airport on Friday evening was a nightmare, the rail network was down for the weekend (so more walking than I expected), disgusting hot weather and Sydney's just not as easy to navigate as Melbourne. But it was lovely to see psyc2321 again and getting to browse through Abbeys Bookshop was just fantastic.

I think my next expedition interstate will be to the upcoming Tutankhamun exhibit at the Melbourne Museum and I will be timing the visit on weekdays to avoid the crowds (but it'll probably be crowded anyway because, hey, it's King Tut). I got to thinking about how it's been nearly 10 years since my high school trip to Egypt- not completely sure I'd ever go back (certainly not alone), but it'd be nice to see some of the pieces I saw in the Cairo's Antiquities Museum again.

In other news, I've become quite addicted to Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody series of books. Saw quite a few when I was in Abbeys bookshop in Sydney and honestly wanted to buy all of them, but I restrained myself to 3 and will probably pick up the others cheaper from Fishpond or Amazon UK (who are now offering free super saver shipping to Australia, yay!).

My next semester of librarian study with CSU starts tomorrow- this semester I face the difficulties of metadata and how to do a group assignment through distance learning, ugh.
