I had this big TL;DR post about my PhD research, but I can't be bothered at the moment. The topic has kind of expanded beyond Januarius to a number of saints in southern Italy with blood miracles attached to them (St Patricia, St Pantaleon and a few others). Rick has asked me to draft an outline....going to do a bit more research and then I'll probably give it to him by the end of the month.

Got back the library report assignment that I mostly thought was crappy waffle- I GOT 42/50 FOR IT! There was even one glaring reference error that the marker didn't pick up on. Conversely, did not do as well on the search strategy portfolio assignment, despite having poured a lot of energy into it. Clearly the less I care about the assessment, the better I do.

Finished watching Spartacus: Blood and Sand a few weeks back. IDK, I think I'll keep watching. Definitely excited about the prequel and seeing John Hannah and Lucy Lawless reprise Batiatus and Lucretia....will probably watch season 2 as well. I'm hoping and looking forward to the introduction of Crassus into the plot- I'm surprised Crassus has been largely ignored in tv/film productions about the Republic, the guy is one of the richest men in history (even by today's standards) and was supposedly executed by having molten gold poured down his throat. Badass. The show needs a bigger Big Bad than Batiatus or Ilythia.

My friend Amy has lent me the 1960 Spartacus movie to watch (I've only seen bits of it, never the whole thing); that might be tomorrow night's television watching.

Current Mood: busy busy
