TV rambling
Just finished watching the series two finale of The Tudors. Funny how I didn't really care much at all for the show to begin with, but series two was a definite improvement on series one and it's now unmissable for me. Really looking forward to series three, just to see how they handle the further struggles of the English Reformation and in particular am intrigued to see whether the writers cast Anne of Cleves as a beauty (that was physically repulsed by Henry) or the 'Mare of Flanders' that history would have us view her as. I (sadly) suspect the latter, given I don't think they're going to put Jonathan Rhys Meyers in a fat suit anytime soon.

In the meantime, series two of Rome starts on cable in a month's time. So there's that to enjoy. And series four of Doctor Who! For some reason the ABC have chosen to put it on Sunday nights now, but I won't complain. Though this is the first year where I haven't been on the edge of my seat for it. I think thesis writing has dulled my interest, not to mention my skepticism regarding Catherine Tate, though I'm quite willing to give her a chance seeing as I've heard a lot of positive reviews in the fandom for her performance. Since there's about a month's wait, I might track down the first few episodes of Torchwood, or at least get as far into series two as Martha's episodes, so I have some idea of what she's been up to when we see her in Who again.

The State Within is finishing up this week. Good political thriller, though I admit I only tuned in for the Jason Isaacs hotness in the first place. JI rocks the suits and tuxedoes in pretty much every episode. I think I like him in this part more than the gangster he plays in Brotherhood too....he looks more comfortable in the role. And English accents on television are always welcome.

Also: must, must get around to watching final three episodes of Strangers with Candy. That's what weekends are for!
