I'm feeling better now than I did on Monday. Actually got work done… - Vox Audita Perrit, Literra Scripta Manet.... — LiveJournal
The heard word is lost, the written letter remains...
I'm feeling better now than I did on Monday. Actually got work done on chapter four today, so now I have a solid grounding for the arguments and whatnot. I'm not sure I'll get a lot of work done over the weekend with my sister visiting, but I'll see. I'm still not sure about what I'm doing on Monday either....at this point I'm keen to do more thesis work at uni, but I might try and make time to go to church for a prayer or mass or similar.

I've also been cheered with mail from Barnes and Noble today: I ordered Fr James Martin's 'My Life with the Saints' after seeing him interviewed on The Colbert Report. He was came off as very funny and knowledgeable, so I look forward to reading that once I find the time for it. As it is, I'm struggling to find the time to get through my current free time read (Barack Obama's 'Dreams from my Father'- Mum gave it a good review and as we're both Obama fans, suggested that I read it), though bus trips and lunch breaks are fully taken advantage of for that. I need a break between reading all the academic articles and books, after all!

The Tudors has also gotten surprisingly good. Was very pleased with how they portrayed Thomas More and John Fisher's death scenes, Jeremy Northam was incredibly good (I cannot lie, I did shed the odd tear) and I'll miss him very much. Much applause for Peter O'Toole's rousing balcony speech that kicked off episode six too- they've had all these scenes of him sitting around in his office in the Vatican signing documents, finally he gets a decent oration! Also, massive lols when he and the Cardinal Campeggio talked celibacy, largely because the real Paul III had at least four illegitimate children. ;p

No verdict on The State Within yet, as we're getting episode two tonight. Jason Isaacs is extremely hawt in all those tailored suits though, which is the important part.
