Not the Messiah/Sinterklaas - Vox Audita Perrit, Literra Scripta Manet....

Not the Messiah/Sinterklaas
'Not the Messiah' was fantastic, and I hope you all get to hear/see it in time. I can't pinpoint a particular moment that brought teh funny, but Eric Idle's Bob Dylan impression was definitely one of the big LMAO moments for me. XD The singers were really the stars of the show though, for bringing such funny material to life. And the choir (The Voices of Biralee- jazzgoddess, didn't your vocal group compete against them at that competition last year?) were also great supporting players.

This afternoon I cooked dinner in celebration of Sinterklaas, that feast day in honour of St Nicholas of Myra, known for his charity, being the original Santa Claus and being possibly the only saint who got pissed off enough at a heretic to punch his lights out. I made a chicken dish with a nice cream sauce. I was going to make coffee custard for desert, but despite following the recipe, botched it in the usual spectacular fashion (it all went wrong when I tried to add milk to the caramelized sugar...don't ask). I'm thinking that I need to give up on desserts just for the moment, because I just can't seem to win when it comes to making sweets. ;p

My last Greek classes for the year were today too. And now it's up to me to make sure that I don't lose track of what I've learned. Our first class in the new year is for our second revision test, which is a good incentive to make sure I don't forget everything.

wasn't it simply the greatest thing ever!

I almost passed out at the hilarity several times, and the score really was very good, much better than spamalot (and I love spamalot).

wasn't the standing ovation amazing... nobody wanted to leave! as if they didn't have an encore prepared.

after the show i went to stage door and MET eric idle. He signed my ticket and had a photo with me and, again, I almost passed out!
