And now, for my thoughts on yaoi (or not)
JKR: "Dumbledore is gay." (some spoilers for DH)

Um. Not that I really care what Dumbledore's sexual orientation was, but that other stuff in the article seems a little bit like fanservice to me (rather like certain other stuff in DH). But hey, I'm sure there are going to be some happy shippers somewhere in this diverse fandom.

And before people start bitching at me for not spoiler cutting or anything: No, I don't think 'Dumbledore is gay' is a spoiler in itself. Largely because JKR is telling us now and didn't decide to include the revelation anywhere in the books. Ergo, it obviously isn't that important to the story. It just elaborates on certain elements of the character for the reader so that we have a better understanding of the way he acts in the storyline.

"Oh, my god," Rowling concluded with a laugh, "the fan fiction."

So true. So true. Never thought I'd see the day when slash/UST was actually canon in Harry Potter...

I suppose it is fanservice, but it was a talk for kids, so I'm okay with it.

Seconded, really.

Honestly? I can see her reasons behind it, and it doesn't surprise me in the least that he was, but so what? ;P

I'm still a little bitter that she sold her rights after she finished, honestly, so that might be tainting my reaction a little.
