British actor squee (with scans)
So, I had the best present given to me a few days ago by a good friend. It's this book called 'My Celebrity Boyfriend'. Basically the woman behind it was a photography student and for an assignment, she got a hold of all these wonderful Brit actors and asked them if they would pretend to be her boyfriend for a few photos. And so what you've got is this amazing/funny book of these actors and her in photos made to look like they were in a relationship!

Well, it's a lot better than I'm describing it. Anyway, I decided to scan a few pictures earlier this afternoon since they were too good not to share. I wish I could've scanned the whole damn book, but I've chosen six shots to share: Dexter Fletcher (for dives), Tony Robinson, Roger Lloyd Pack (Owen of Vicar of Dibley fame/John Lumic from the first Cybermen two-parter on Doctor Who/Crouch Sr in the GoF movie), Jack Davenport, Alexander Siddig and my mum's personal favourite, grumpy old man Nigel Havers.

Really, 'jealous' is nowhere near close enough to describe my feelings towards this woman. More like 'raging-seething-green-with-envy jealous'.

That's a rather beautiful photo, actually. Quite believable.

I hate to say it, but at first I thought 'zomg, it's Sir Ian McKellen!!!'. He does look quite a bit like him there imo.

Again, I am a mass of seething jealousy.

I'm quite certain there are one or two people on the flist who like Alexander Siddig. Right? In any case, I thought he was quite fanciable in Kingdom of Heaven.

A bit of a cad? Yes. But looking really good for his age, I have to say.

I suppose I could cross-post this to vintage_meat later, but Jack Davenport is the exception to the rule. Shall think on it.

Today is supposed to have been one of the coldest days on record here. I have to admit, I stayed inside virtually all day. I thought this morning 'Maybe I'll go to the gym.' Walked outside and immediately changed my mind and decided putting together the bibliography for my ISU paper was a much better idea.

Current Mood: giggly giggly

That's a really clever idea, that book.

Every time I hear about My Celebrity Boyfriend I think to myself, "Oh, man...I really, really should've thought of that."

Although, apparently the woman who did it worked in a theater or something, so she had a lot of connections. I don't think she just sent off letters saying "Hello, you don't know me but I'm doing a project for art school and I was wondering if you'd be willing to pretend you're my boyfriend in a picture."

(If she did do that, though, then that is the most brilliant idea ever. Brings an entirely new meaning to the whole ask-and-ye-shall-recieve idea!)
