One episode to go...

This is better than RTD's last effort. But it still has stupid pop culture refs in it. I didn't mind the nods to Big Brother or The Weakest Link last year, but dropping Trisha and Eastenders in there kinda sucked. Actually no, not kinda. Did suck. And the Ghostbusters ref made me cringe. Terrible.

But besides that, I was rather impressed. Torchwood is great. Seriously, Yvonne kicks arse (and I covet her knee-high boots). She would've made an awesome companion (and I say this knowing what happens in Doomsday). Jackie is still fabulous. Rose didn't really have much to do in this episode, though I'm bracing myself for the tide of angst and emo that's inevitably going to occur next week (though I have scene the pivotal scene between Ten and Rose already because I'm an impatient spoiler whore like that). Oh, and even though I knew it was coming, the entrance of the Daleks from the sphere was serious WIN. A black Dalek! Yeyz! And Mickey was there too! All good things.

After the end of series two next week, I suppose I'll move onto Torchwood, since it's starting later this month. I'm not terribly enthused, strangely enough. Still, it is the return of Captain Jack, and I did like Burn Gorman in Bleak House. So not all bad, particularly.

Back to uni tomorrow. How depressing. My art and architecture essay is due next Tuesday, and then there's a minor reprieve until the Pompey one. And so I go back to using what's left of the mid-semester break to do more assignment work. ;p
