That example with your brother is exactly why I don't like to give people too much help with Latin. Last year for our Virgil class, I mistranslated one word in a segment of text I was translating for the class prior to the mid-semester exam. No one actually corrected me at the time, but when I found out and that my particular bit of text was actually one of the translation pieces for the exam, I was terrified that everyone might lose a mark for my mistake. In any case, I think most of them got it right.

While sometimes I'd like to think I was an expert on Rome, I find it's much better to be a student, if it makes any sense. There's always more to learn and memorize, including dates, as it happens. ;)
