Still no internet, and none until Monday....
...which is why I'm working with dad on my otherwise-free Saturday. Not that there's been much work to do, but I'm being paid, which is always a bonus. ;p

I consoled myself by buying a Doctor Who magazine at Borders with David Tennant on the cover and taking the cats to the vet, which is always a fun experience filled with upset felines and much struggling when it comes to injections and cleaning infected wounds. Smokey was the one with the wound (up near her ear, that requires antibiotics and antiseptic cream), and Basil was losing the fur on his back legs and belly. The vet thinks it's seasonal alopecia, which is not too much to worry about.

Also have a nice printed commentary for Tacitus, so I can do some translating this week. The lecturer sounded nice enough in the e-mails, so I'm rather optimistic.

Aaaand that's all I've got.

Current Mood: working working

Payment *is* good...

Sorry to hear your cats are poorly - how did Smokey get wounded near his ear? Was he fighting?

Glad your Tacitus-quest was successful, I hope your lecturer fulfils expectations.

We're not sure how Smokey got the wound....she could've been fighting with Basil, or it could've just been aN insect bite that she scratched too hard. I'm glad we took her when we did, the vet said it could've been a lot worse if we'd left it for a few days. :/

I think one of the keys to enjoying Latin is a lecturer who enjoys it too, and takes his or her time when teaching the text and pointing out what sort of language the writer employs. If you don't have a good lecturer, then I think it's possible that you won't see the best of the language.

Did that make sense? (Oh, probably not, but then it is only 8:00 and I was pulled out of bed to do more at work. Eek!)

Hope that your cats are okay. Mine are complete handfuls - especially Hugo who is far too adventurous for his own good. I've been doing lots of scanning over the weekend. There's some David Tennant piccies and things in the mix. Must remember to post them soon.
