Oh, man. I just lost an update because I hit the back button by accident. *falls over*

I would be angrier if it weren't for the fact that Sawyer is being chased by a boar that made off with his tarp. Ahaha.

Where was I? Well, I was writing about Empire. I stopped watching it three episodes in, as it was a) too boring, b) historically inaccurate, and c) at a later timeslot that I couldn't be bothered staying up until. However, I managed to catch the very end of the final episode on my Lost tape, and the following seems to have happened:

1. Mark Antony did not commit suicide in Egypt with Cleopatra. He was killed by Octavian in one-on-one combat in a huge bloody battle somewhere outside of Rome.

2. Octavian has appeared to have slept with the hot Vestal Virgin (*groan*), but has obviously had an attack of the guilts and appointed her head of the temple so that they may never be together in an angsty way.

3. Cicero was not murdered brutally, but instead has survived to see the dawn of the empire. As a historian, I should be raging mad about this, but instead I'm happy. Albeit, in a really guilty way.

4. Tyrannus, gladiator-turned-Octavian's bodyguard, fades into obscurity and goes home to his family. Rather like Maximus, except with a happy ending.

Now that travesty's over, bring on Rome! The Australian newspaper previewed it in their review section and I'm very optimistic.

....and I so need to interrupt this update to say I need a Sayid icon. If the writers kill him off at any point, there will be hell to pay.

And speaking of icons....

1. Default:

iCicero. Listen to your favourite speeches and rhetoric from one of Res Publica's greatest lawyers and politicians on the run!

2. Oldest:

Canova's Cupid and Psyche. This was one of the very first lj icons I made.

3. Newest:

Father Nicholas from Popetown. Wish I could've come up with wittier text.

4. Saddest:

My old Elias one. I find it sad because of what happens to him later in the film, really. -.-;

5. Happiest:

Hell, it even has a smiley on it. ;p

6. Angriest:

Well, nothing says angry like Jason Isaacs as Colonel Tavington. Major rage right there.

7. Cutest:

Ratty and Mole from the 80s stop motion animation of 'Wind in the Willows'

8. Sexiest:

9. Most Humorous:

Funnier if you imagine Jayne saying it.

10. Favorite 'ship:

11. Favorite fandom(s):
, , , ,
I'm not an active participant in fandoms (because the wankiness is often too much), but the ones I've iconed here are Harry Potter, Grim Fandango, Firefly, House and Pirates of the Caribbean.

12. Favorite(s) I've made:
, ,
David Tennant as Casanova, Terry Pratchett's Death (with lyrics from Blue Oyster Cult), the Scarlet Pimpernel's symbol.

13. Favorite(s) by someone else:

One of my favourite presents in recent years. severa made this for me about three years ago(?). Either way, the harem hasn't changed at all.

14. Favorite of the moment:

The Penitent Snape, with lines from D.H. Lawrence's 'The Snake'.

15. Favorite overall:

Theta Sigma, aka the Doctor, shown here in his (adorable) tenth incarnation.

Current Mood: amused amused
Current Music: Lost
