Book talk
'Never Have Your Dog Stuffed' arrived at Borders for me today! Can't wait to read it (read the captions for the photos of Alan in the middle and was amused by them. I can tell it's going to be good. ^^). I'm currently in the middle of Anna Funder's 'Stasiland' (a collection of accounts of life in East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall), but that will be my next read. Oh, finished 'Tommy's Tale' too. Not too bad, kind of like a smuttier bisexual male version of 'Bridget Jones' Diary'. Good summer reading, because it's not too serious and easy to read.

Also went looking with mum for Christmas presents for my nieces and nephews. We bought them all picture books, including 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar', 'Where the Wild Things Are', and 'Each Peach Pear Plum'. There were some odd titles in the children's section though. Does 'Moby Dick' qualify as a children's book? Also a whole slew of Narnia merchandise floating around Borders (and a heap of titles about C.S. Lewis and Christianity in the religion section).

Sent off my overseas cards today, will be sending off the local ones on the first. I'm rather pleased with myself for being on top of my Christmas gifts/cards this year. The overseas people I sent cards to should probably get them in about a week or a week and a half.

The House finale last night was quite good. Not too much Wilson, but I liked the end and can't wait for season two to start showing here. Even though it's going to be months and months before we get it. *sigh*

And to cap off this update, a very happy Thanksgiving to my American friends. :)

They're calling Dracula a children's book now. Not abridged. Not adapted. The original manuscript.

.......... WTH.
