Yay! - Vox Audita Perrit, Literra Scripta Manet.... — LiveJournal
The heard word is lost, the written letter remains...
It didn't storm last night, but it's storming now! However, I may just stab something if said storm causes a power outage during House. Or Alias, for that matter. Downloading the episodes missed (due to my own folly with the VCR, mainly) hasn't been kind to our bandwith.

This weekend, I'm going to work on my 'Last Temptation' presentation. And translate the Tibullus poem I got as Latin homework. But now? I'm going to get an apple, watch some House and then the episode of Hitchhikers Guide that I taped last night from cable.

Before that however, some random Catullus to entertain those of you who know the mother tongue:

Iam ver egelidos refert tepores,
iam caeli furor aequinoctalis
iucundis Zephyri silescit aureis.
Linquantur Phrygii, Catulle, campi
nicaeaeque ager uber aestuosae:
ad claras asiae volemus urbes.
Iam mens praetrepidans avet vagari,
iam laeti studio pedes vigescunt.
O dulces comitum valete coetus,
longe quos simul a domo profectos
diversae varie viae reportant.

(Carmen 46)

Those who are curious about an English translation can find one here. Can't vouch for how literal it is, though. I'd need a dictionary and probably an hour to translate it myself. ;p

Oh, and this 'Helen of Troy' tv movie that's supposed to be showing on Friday night here looks as bad as the other Troy movie that came out last year. >:/
