The Wednesday free-time update

My assessment for the next month or so is looking so daunting right now.

Two essays for religion, 1000 and 1500 words respectively
One 1500-word essay for ancient history
One 2000-word essay for communication and culture
Mid-semester tests for Latin and Ancient history

It doesn't look so bad when it's written down, but this is all coming up in September, and I feel sick thinking about it.

In the meantime, life is going fine. A few bumps here and there, but I can't complain really. I'm starting to look forward to my measley one week mid-semester break, and contemplating doing something about considering my future. I've decided Latin honours might be a bit too dangerous of a gamble, so I'm considering communication and culture, which as you know, is the subject I never thought I'd be interested in, but am.

Some of you on my friends list will know of the furore surrounding author Norma Khouri, whose book 'Forbidden Love' was recently debunked as a work of fiction as opposed to the true story it claimed to be. I just finished reading the book (dad fortunately bought a copy before the fraud thing happened), and I can say it was a very good read, and I recommend it if you can get your hands on it. It's about honour killings in the Middle Eastern state of Jordan and despite being a work of fiction, the message is clear about this kind of thing happening to innocent women.

Bah, my tutorial is in about fifteen minutes....and seeing as I've never been to the room in which it's being held, I should go and find it rather than risk getting lost and miss it completely.
