*sings* We're knights of the round table!
Gah, saw King Arthur this afternoon.

While I admire that someone had the idea of presenting the historical Arthur to us, it was a badly executed idea. The chemistry between Guinevere (Keira Knightley chanelling Xena/Boadicea) and Arthur was nil, and the romance was unbelievable. She had more chemistry with Lancelot (Ioan Gruffudd chanelling gorgeous crumpet in vein of Hornblower). Kind of makes sense, but the film bore no real resemblance to the legend of Camelot. The dialogue some of the actors had to deal with was just awful, and the leader of the Saxons spent the whole film speaking in a half-whispered American accent.

So yes. Give me Camelot and the Medieval Arthur any day over this. I do admit, it's amusing to watch the film if you have dialogue from Monty Python and the Holy Grail playing through your head.

We're Knights of the Round Table
We dance whenever we're able
We do routines and chorus scenes
With footwork impeccable
We dine well here in Camelot
We eat ham and jam and spam a lot!
