The perils of dvd recording
Libby, I have the David Tennant 'Who do you think you are?' episode on disc. Only, the last ten minutes have kind of gone awol. :/ Oh, well. Most of it is there! How was the consultant talk? If you're still feeling Catholic guilt about the late lunch, STOP IT RIGHT NOW.

However, I do feel the need to point out that next Thursday is the Ides of March (a sacred day for all ancient historians and classicists) and that we should all try and have lunch together then to mourn Caesar and the fall of the Republic. And then I propose we all march down to Cromwell and harass Stephen until that he remembers his consular duties.

Speaking of the Republic....my Rome series one box set came today! And the box the discs come in is made of wood (there's quality for you). I am a mass of fangirl joy and cannot wait to watch them. During the Easter break, of course, when I'm not working or doing assignment work. ;p I will make time!

Spent most of today's class reading theses, individual study unit essays and thesis proposals written by students in previous years. Evidently it's ok in your rationale if you're doing the topic for your own reasons (eg. Me doing it because five years on from my conversion and I'm still wanting to learn more about the church and it seemed appropriate to merge it with my other love, ancient Roman history). I also asked about writing in the first person, and it seems to some extent to be allowed. Obviously for reasons of objectivity I shall try and avoid it, but for my introduction it might be a nice touch.

Thanks Steph :) I'm sure it will be great.

The consulting talk was, as expected, not my cup of tea. But very interesting in a you may actually be employable sort of way.

Thanks for being so forgiving too. Actually, I love you idea about next Thursday, and as I will be in, (Yes, Daniel and i have changed our schedule again. We're now up to scedule 7937690327684b) I shall suggest to all we go to lunch. :) Even the consul.

Rome? *makes extremely polite noises about coming over to see the final*

Also ran into a huge bunch of people today at TS lecture on representations of ROme in 19th Cent. literature. Jen, Yvette Etc. was a great talk too.

You know, I went up to Michie level seven in the hope of finding Pamela's office...no such luck. She told me last year that there was a poster of some description on it, but then I got up there and a few doors had posters. ;p

You wouldn't know whereabouts she is, would you? If worse comes to worse, I could always e-mail her, since Tom gave me her address.

What is everyone's schedule this semester? I know Suze, Beth, Nikki and Clare must be hanging about the museum (and what about Bec? I should've asked what the situation was with the New Caledonian teaching job yesterday). What about our provincial consul? He said he was taking the Suetonius course when I spoke to him, but didn't mention any other courses.

Either way, we should make every effort to get everyone together for this. And maybe we could all see The 300 together too? I don't think it comes out till April, so there's enough time to coordinate everyone's diaries there, I think.

From memory Pamela's office is right at the end corner, bus plaza side. So if the seventh floor plan is identical to the third floor, it's the office directly opposite Sonia's new office (formerly Tim's). I'm terrible at Geography so I'll just take you to where it use to be on Thursday and we'll see.

Bec flies out on St patrick's day. So far all things are good.
Nicki is pretty much full time at the QM, but is still doing Honours, part time I think.

Thursday is museum day so I'll mention lunch to everyone :)

She seemed happy and looked really well. We were all so delighted to see her. :) She said the job is pretty good too.

See, there is life after Honours.

I'm doing ok. You?

Life after MPhil, even :) I'm not doing too badly, although it's started getting rather nippy in the evenings. Copping much teasing about being a Queenslander due to frequent wearing of jumper.
