Rome
Rome was glorious. A thing of beauty. I can't actually think of anything coherent to say besides that. The producers of that travesty Empire should take note: THIS IS HOW YOU DO GOOD HISTORICAL DRAMA. A truly, truly worthy successor to I, Claudius. And with the relative prudishness of the late 70s in the past, added smut and gore!

If Channel Nine yanks this from the schedule, I'm going to write angry letters. Or rabidly torrent the episodes/buy the dvd.

*Obviously needs a Rome!Cicero icon now. Will step right on this tomorrow*

Also, I just about died when I realized that young Octavian was wee Lord Blakeney from Master and Commander.

Current Mood: enthralled enthralled

Haha, Daniel and Nikki and I spent an hour picking holes in that this morning (it is good fun, though!). Bently (corublo) has the entire series on DVD, if axed I will be borrowing.

Oh, and you still owe me an icon, yes?

I'll make you a Rome one if you want. *points to just-made Cicero* Knew listening in Art and Architecture would come in useful!

Also, I owe you this. I sent this to Steven last week, and you wanted to see it too I think?

Yes thank you, I did indeed. Sure, Rome works for me, but can I request not Cicero, please? Verres is bumming me out right now (read: Jen has handed out the homework assignment, and my brain refuses to reconcile Plautan comedy with Ciceronian sarcastic-lawyer-jokes).

Any requests besides non-Cicero? Atia drenched in blood? That actor in the play with the obnoxiously huge fake phallus (suppose that's quite Plautan, really)? Grumpy old Cato?
