That little image needs updating....I haven't been eighteen for nearly a year now. -.-;;

I've also been meaning to type a serious update for a week now.....the spirit was willing but the flesh was weak. Sinterklaas went particularly well....my brother Adrian couldn't make it though, due to my nephew's glandular. My other nephew, Eli was there though.....and proceeded to try and wreck everything he could get his hands on. Fortunately, the only casualty was one of dad's old Cotton Club tapes. The food went down a treat....it's also sent me looking through cookbooks for inspiration. If there's one thing I can say I certainly achieved this year, it was learning to cook dishes beyond my staple diet of last year: pasta and sauce. ^^

Steven's gone back to Warwick for the holidays....I'm very pleased with what I got him for a Christmas. Tolstoy's War and Peace (a must have for every budding war historian) and after a search around the city, a huge-ass coffee cup. I swear, I could spend hours browsing through those places that sell stuff like Jamie Oliver or Nigella cookware/Buddha statues/bits and pieces that have no purpose than other making the owner look cool and trendy. Christmas brings out that unfortunate element in me.

Having very little to do over the holidays has opened up an entire new world of tv to me. It's an awful time of year, the non-ratings school holidays period. Which is probably why I've been watching cable in copiously large amounts. UKTV is brilliant, though. They show My Family, and we all know how wonderful Robert Lindsay is.
And speaking of which....as there's nothing on tv tonight, I think I'll go and watch my Scarlet Pimpernel video. Because nothing says Christmas like BBC costume dramas to me.
